Update: WaBi Burien Hosting Walk-n-Talk This Sunday at North SeaTac Park
Press Release: ALERT: WE’VE CHANGED THE MEETUP PLACE FOR THE NORTH SEATAC PARK WALK-N-TALK! We will meet on the grassy slope near the restrooms above the large parking lot at the north end of the park. See the revised maps below.
DIRECTIONS: Approach the park entrance by driving north on Des Moines Memorial Drive S., (either from downtown Burien or from the Hwy. 518 off-ramp.) Take a right and go east on S. 128th St. Drive one block and take a right on 20th Ave. S. into the park. There are spaces for a couple hundred cars here, compared to the 15 parking spaces in the small lot off of Des Moines Memorial Drive S.
For our October 7 Walk-n-Talk, let’s go explore our “neighbor’s” trails. Adjacent to Burien’s eastern city limits is the city of SeaTac, home of North SeaTac Park.
North SeaTac Park amenities include: baseball/soccer/softball fields, open area, restrooms, playground equipment, picnic area, outdoor basketball, paved walking trails, community center, BMX track, disk golf, parking.
On past Walk-n-Talks, we’ve walked within the City of Burien, and have generally started at Town Square. But there are interesting places to check out in the neighboring communities as well, so we’ll consider them for our walking opportunities.
- Date: Sunday October 7, 2012
- Time: Meet at 2:00 p.m. Start walking at 2:15 p.m.
- Location: North SeaTac Park, parking lot at the corner of S. 128th St. and Des Moines Memorial Drive S.
- Who: Walkers of every level and ability
- Route: We will walk on the paved trails that meander through the park. (See dotted lines on the maps below.) Total distance of 2-2.5 miles, depending on wishes of the walkers. Click on the map to see a larger view. Please print this out and bring it with you as a walking guide.

Directions from the center of Burien:
Drive east on SW 152nd St. to Des Moines Memorial Drive S. Turn Left and go north until S. 128th St. The parking area is on the southeast corner of intersection.
Take Hwy. 518 westbound toward Burien, to the exit for Des Moines Memorial Drive S. Turn right and go north until S. 128th St. The parking area is on the southeast corner of intersection.
