Vino Bello Wine Bar & Shop has announced that their 5th annual Whine & Cheese fundraiser for Animal Aid & Rescue Found (AARF) will be held on June 7, 2013.
Last week, thousands of people participated in our Happy Birthday Burien contest by reading, commenting, sharing and tweeting articles about local Burien businesses.
Thank you to everyone who helped promote Burien’s turning 20 years old! We especially want to thank Burien Press, White Cap Frozen Yogurt, Vino Bello Wine Bar & Shop, Skin Perfect, A Place for Pets and Oliver’s Bite for providing the prizes for our contest.
Below is our list of winners. Each person won a $20 gift card from one of the participating businesses. Gift cards can be picked up from each of these businesses, with a valid ID, starting today. (more…)
Editor’s Note: On February 28, 2013, Burien will be 20 years old; just old enough to no longer be called a teen, but still not old enough to buy beer. To celebrate Burien’s exit from the teenage years, we are partnering with a number of local businesses to give away $20 gift cards. Each day we will publish an article about an independent Burien business who will be giving a gift card away. To win the gift card, all participants have to do is leave a comment on the article (the comment can say whatever you want and will not influence your chances of winning) and share the article with the hashtag “#happybirthdayburien” so we can track the posts. Winners will be selected at random and will be able to pick their prize up on March 1st at the appropriate participating business. Happy birthday Burien and good luck Burienites!

Visitors to Vino Bello can expect a wide variety of wines, beers on tap, tapas to enjoy with your drinks, and a knowledgable staff that can help you select the perfect drink. (more…)
Burien Town Square just released a video YouTube inviting people to “rediscover” Burien. The video features a number of local people and Burien business owners such as Michele Smith from Vino Bello Wine Bar & Shop, Greg Corner from Eat Local, and Todd Carden from Elliott Bay Brewery.
The video is under 5 minutes and includes a welcome from Mayor Brian Bennett so it’s probably worth taking a break from watching YouTube videos of Honey Boo Boo for. Video after the break! (more…)

If you’ve taken a drive down the SW 152nd this week you may have noticed that Vino Bello Wine Bar & Shop, Burien’s original wine shop, is sporting a couple new signs and a fresh coat of chianti colored paint. But new signage and paint isn’t the only thing that’s been going on at Vino. Last Saturday, 20 Burienites gathered in front of Vino Bello Wine Bar & Shop for Cash Mob Burien to go support Burien’s only new book store, Burien Books, in OIde Burien. Afterwards, the mob group gathered back at Vino to celebrate with the consumption of Beer and Wine. Keeping up with the excitement from the paint and the mob, this weekend Vino Bello is welcoming one of Washington state’s most awarded wineries, Long Shadows Winery. (more…)
