We know that it is going to be a pretty tempting day out there with all of the celebrating going on. We just wanted to remind you fireworks are banned in Burien and you can face some pretty big penalties if you get caught with them. So this Independence Day, don’t be an “Amer-I-Can do whatever I want” but be a “Amer-I-Can respect the established laws because that’s how democracy works.” Either way, just a friendly reminder.

Discover Burien announced this morning that recordings of the event will be available on DVD for $10. Burien Eats takes place on the first Thursday of each month. Burien residents gather at a designated restaurant with the intent of meeting new people, supporting local businesses, building community, and trying a new restaurant. There is no discount because the idea is to be taking care of the businesses not taking advantage of them.

The 18th of May marks Burien Press’ two years of opening their independent coffee shop in Burien. It may come as a surprise to you that there is a classic car club that meets in Burien every weekend. The Classy Chassis Car Club of Burien makes good use of the normally vacant parking lot surrounding the old City Hall building that sits on the northeast corner of Burien Town Square. Every Saturday since April 9th, Classy Chassis has filled the lot with an array of automobiles that wow the likes of any onlooker. The club has averaged around 40 cars a weekend so far this year. The public is encouraged to come see the cars free of charge from 3 p.m. till the cars depart in the evening...
