Olde Burien is a great little pocket of local and independent businesses. It features a few of the many great Burien eateries, an independent theatre, one of our local bookstores, as well as lots of other great shops and businesses. One of the things that Olde Burien hasn’t featured in recent years is an art gallery. That is, until this June.

In a Burien Daily exclusive interview with the Creative Director overseeing the project, we were told that the space located on the corner of SW 152nd St and 9th Ave SW next the Danish Bakery is currently being converted into a gallery and creative hub to be opened in early to mid June of 2011.
In many ways, this space is much more than a simple art gallery. The space will house music, spoken expression, poetry slams, workshops, visual art, art inspired retail, and drum circles, in addition to its normal rotating art exhibits. To top it all off, this gallery and creative hub will be the home of the Art Walk that’s coming to Burien this summer.
The name of the gallery and the full scoop will be announced soon exclusively on Burien Daily. If you want the full story, keep checking back and you’ll get a bonus of local news and much more.
