This Thursday, July 12th, marks the beginning of the City of Burien’s free Music in the Park season. The first event will be held at Lake Burien School Park with a performance by the Black Crabs.
The Black Crabs are a Seattle based rockabilly band made up of three members: Johnny 7 (vocals and rhythm guitar), Kirsten Ballweg (standup bass), and Tom Forster (on drums).
“A lot of people say the same thing about The Black Crabs. “You guys don’t sound like anybody else.” Sure, there’s some rockabilly in there, and some rock and roll too. But there’s also swing, jazz, and even a taste of spaghetti western. It’s a refreshing update to the “authentic reproduction” approach of the rockabilly genre.”
Music will start at 6:30pm and end at 8pm Thursday evening. Everyone is welcome at this free event.
We are especially excited about this summer’s season because the 2012 Music in the Park marks the first City of Burien event that Burien Daily has had the opportunity to sponsor. We are so happy to get to be part in bringing these great free events to Burien.
We recommend you check out the Black Crabs’ music by following this link: The Black Crabs on Facebook.
