City of Burien and Harbor Urban, LLC Agree to Revisit Downtown Development Plans for Phase II

BURIEN, WA (Aug. 23, 2012) — This week, the Burien City Council unanimously approved an agreement that will allow Harbor Urban to create revised development plans for Phase II of the Town Square project.

“The City is looking forward to seeing progress on the Town Square development and its eventual completion.  The much anticipated start of the next phase of this project is important to our community and it is important that it be done right,” said Mike Martin, City Manager for the City of Burien.

“We are glad to have the opportunity to continue working with the City of Burien,” said Jim Atkins, managing director of Harbor Urban. “We are working diligently to develop plans that will enhance Burien’s downtown area and help bolster the growth of the city.”

Harbor Urban and the city will work together in the Phase II planning process to ensure the development of a residential complex in the heart of downtown that will complete the vision of a vibrant downtown Burien Town Square.

Amy Hoffman, the development manager for the Phase II project, has been deeply involved on Phases I and II since 2007 for Harbor Urban said, “A successful project has always been our main focus and continues to remain so. We’re looking forward to building a quality project for Phase II with the city.”

Plans will go before Burien City Council for approval this fall.
