Burien’s Wild Strawberry Festival and Father’s Day Car Show is June 16th and 17th

The City of Burien’s annual Wild Strawberry Festival and Father’s Day Car Show is just around the corner. The two day event has a schedule packed full of Burien traditions as well as plenty of new entertainers, booths, and competitions.

The festival will take place on June 16th and 17th in Burien Town Square Park  located on SW 152nd St and 5th Ave SW next to Burien City Hall and Library.

Discover Burien will also be hosting a number of events around the festival. Their annual Summer Carnival Days will be held just north of Town Square Park from June 14th to the 17th. On June 17th Discover Burien will also be hosting their annual Father’s Day Car Show and Chili Cook Off.

There are plenty more events and competitions going along with the festival including a pancake breakfast and a breakdance competition so make sure read the full schedule and press release below for all the details.

Celebrate the start of summer at Burien’s 2012 Wild Strawberry Festival!

You are invited to the Burien Wild Strawberry Festival on Saturday & Sunday, June 16-17 at the festival’s downtown location at Town Square Park!

An amazing number of fun activities will be featured, including:  Saturday Strawberry Breakdance Competition that will include a full day of breakdance competitions, workshops for all, and final battles on the Town Square Stage; Carnival Days hosted by Discover Burien, with rides and games for all ages; new Touch a Truck event-150th will be filled will all types of fun vehicles for kids to explore; and Games at many of the vendor booths.

The Festival kicks off with the annual Kiwanis Club’s Pancake Breakfast at the Burien Fire Station.  Discover Burien’s popular Father’s Day Car Show & Chili Cook-Off will again be held on Sunday and conveniently located right next to the activities.

Fabulous music, strolling comedians, dancers, puppeteers, storytelling and community performers will be a mainstay of the event, along with delicious food booths, great shopping, and the Festival’s signature strawberry shortcake!

Town Square Park is located at the intersection of SW 152nd St and 5th Ave SW.  We encourage you to walk, bike and bus to the festival!  The festival is produced by the City of Burien and supported by Waste Management, King County Library System, Allied Waste, St Residential, Burien Press, 4 Culture, The Highline Times and B-Town Blog.
